Digital publication network Purch, formerly known as TechMedia Network, shared some interesting financial statistics today that show the company is growing at a steady pace.

In addition to operating numerous news sites, like TopTenReviews and Tom’s Hardware, Purch operates a platform that matches up content, advertising, and product recommendations within news and review publications. The platform’s goal is to increased engagement from readers, who may then purchase products or services based on that experience.

The company told VentureBeat that it has close to $100 million in annual revenue this year, and seeing annual growth of more than 20 percent. A Purch spokesperson also said the company is profitable, and on track to continue profitability indefinitely.

Purch also claims that it has the largest audience of any site in the tech vertical, which would mean that it’s bigger than CBS-owned CNet and Ziff Davis. We haven’t been able to verify that claim.

Part of the Purch’s success could be due to Purch’s (then TMN’s) purchase of Bestofmedia last year — which gave it access to well-trafficked publications like Tom’s Hardware, Tom’s Guide, and Tom’s IT Pro — as well as its acquisition of B2B-focused BuyerZone earlier this year.

Today Purch also announced that it’s signed an exclusive partnership with digital publisher Mobile Nations, which runs Android Central, iMore, WPCentral, Connectedly, and others. The partnership will bring Purch’s content and commerce recommendation platform to Mobile Nation sites.

Founded in 2003, the New York-based company has raised a total of $40.5 million in funding to date. Purch currently has over 350 employees in nine offices across the globe.

The parent company of Space.com, Laptop magazine, and Tom’s Hardware is acquiring BuyerZone, a lead-generation business aimed at buyers and sellers of products for small and medium-sized businesses (SMB).

The expansion means TechMedia Network will be getting access to an e-commerce channel and can make money from lead generation, not just advertising. It already bills itself as the third-largest tech publisher in the world, after CNET and Ziff-Davis.

BuyerZone, which has been in business since 1992, has facilitated 7 million leads and tens of billions of dollars in transactions, according to a spokesperson for TMN. It currently includes more than one million buyers and 8,500 sellers in its network, with categories including business phone systems, point-of-sale systems, copiers, payroll services, and security systems.

TechMedia Network, the parent company of Laptop Magazine and Space.com, just added another hot techie vertical to its portfolio: Tom’s Hardware.

TMN announced today that it had acquired Bestofmedia Group (BOM), the parent company of Tom’s Hardware, Tom’s IT Pro, and Tom’s Guide. Tom’s Hardware is an uber-gadget-geek’s gadget geek site, with extremely detailed reviews of computer hardware. It may be difficult going for non-geeks, but for those who need to know which motherboard has the best performance or what the exact differences are between Intel’s Core i7-4960X and Intel’s LGA-1155 Ivy Bridge chips, Tom’s has built up trust over more than a decade of reviews and analysis. More recently, it boasted that its unique visitor count has grown 85 percent in 10 months, with more than 3 million “active users,” although it didn’t define the exact size of its monthly audience or what it meant by active users.
